I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is next week! How has the year flown by so quickly? I am going to post a few of our Thanksgiving staples here in the next week. I decided to start with my favorite Cranberry Relish. The great thing about this cranberry relish is that it can be made ahead of time and frozen. I think the more things that you can prepare ahead of time, the better. Even though we don’t host the meal at our house, it still seems to be a hectic day.
Once you see how easy it is to make your own Cranberry Relish, you will not want the store-bought stuff! This version is so fresh and citrusy and it could not be easier to make!
First, you start off by putting a bag of cranberries in the bowl of your food processor. Next you are going to want to zest an orange and then peel it. Dispose of the peel and put the zest and orange in with the cranberries. Finally, add the sugar.
Now all you have to do is pop the lid on the food processor and pulse until you get it as coarse or as fine as you like it. I typically like mine a little more coarse than this, but I got a little carried away with my pulse button. It tastes great no matter what the consistency! I did not put any pecans in this, but my mom always does. It’s good either way.
Make this Cranberry Orange Relish for Thanksgiving and I assure you no one will want to go back to the store-bought stuff!
