Two weeks from today we’ll all be eating turkey! Thanksgiving has become one of my favorite holidays! No gifts to worry about, just a relaxed day full of good food and family! If you’re searching for a last minute easy recipe to round out your Thanksgiving menu, look no further than this Cranberry Salsa!
When I first heard of Cranberry Salsa I couldn’t quite grasp the concept. But then I tasted it and was hooked! Think cranberry relish married a fruit salsa. You will not find any tomatoes in this salsa, just tart cranberries.
This Cranberry Salsa has a tart and sweet flavor with just a hint of heat. If you don’t like heat, just use half a jalapeno. The cumin adds a slight smokey flavor that I love. There’s something about all of these flavors combined that works really well.
I like to make this salsa the night before I’m going to serve it. That gives times for the sugar to break down and all of the ingredients to marry.
You can go two different ways serving the Cranberry Salsa. You can serve it like you would any other salsa with tortilla chips. Your other option is spreading cream cheese on a plate and then topping the cream cheese with the salsa. If I go the cream cheese route, I serve it with crackers such as Club or Wheat Thins. Both are equally delicious!
This is a quick recipe that could easily be added to your Thanksgiving menu! Give it a try because it’s always a hit!
