There is not much that says summer more than grilled burgers! They are usually on our menu once a week during grilling season. We are simple burger people but if I’m feeling extra we make Dale’s Burgers!
These burgers are super simple with only two ingredients. All you are going to need is ground chuck and Dale’s Steak Seasoning. I find this in the aisle with ketchup and steak sauce. It is a liquid, soy-based marinade. When I’m going to be serving these burgers I like to prepare them a few hours a head of time so they have time to soak up the marinade. Another key to this recipe is making sure you use quality meat. I like to use ground chuck for my burgers. I personally think that using beef that is too lean will result in a tough burger.
When we make burgers at home I like to use about 1/3 pound meat for each one. This will be a nice big burger that will take up the whole bun. The smaller the patty the more likely you are to end up with a dry burger.
When I’m using Dale’s on my burgers I do not put any salt, pepper or additional seasoning. I really don’t think it needs it. I simply pat out the burgers, generously drizzle the liquid seasoning over and let them sit for a couple of hours to soak up the marinade.
Another key to making great burgers is using a charcoal grill. I just think it has so much more flavor. If you don’t have a charcoal grill, you can certainly use a gas grill.
Try these burgers for your next cook out. They are still a good basic staple, with just a little extra flavor. Put them on your 4th of July menu and I promise they will be a hit!
