If you are looking for something decadent to make, these Magic Cookie Bars are your answer! Over the years, I’ve learned these bars go by many different names. Some call them Hello Dolly’s, some call them 7 Layer Bars and I’ve even seen them just called Magic Bars. Whatever they are called, just know they are rich and delicious!
The base of these bars is a graham cracker crust. I don’t think I’ve ever sampled anything that started with a graham cracker crust that I didn’t like! To that crust you are simply going to layer up chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut and pecans. Then top it off with a can of sweetened condensed milk. You want to make sure the sweetened condensed milk is spread evenly over the toppings. If you need to you can take a knife of spoon to help distribute it evenly.
Now, all you have to do is bake them for 25 minutes and wait for them to cool! Waiting for them to cool is the most challenging part of this recipe!
If you are completely against butterscotch, you could just double up on the chocolate chips, but I think the butterscotch gives it more depth – and I’m not a huge fan of butterscotch.
I think these bars would be great to add to cookie platters this holiday season. But if you’re like me, you’ll probably need to try them out ahead of time just to make sure they’re ok. 😉
Try these bars this weekend! The perfect treat for any Halloween parties you might be going to!
