Toffee Apple Dip

Happy Fall, y’all!  We are definitely having a beautiful Fall here in Southern Illinois this year.  The colors are amazing and fortunately they are hanging around!  There is something about Fall that inspires us to cook and gather with friends and family.  I think the changing of the seasons always feels that way but Fall seems like the best time to do this.  This Toffee Apple Dip is great for those fall gatherings!

What do I need to make Toffee Apple Dip?

This dip only requires a handful of ingredients.  You will need cream cheese, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla and Heath Toffee Bits.  It is important to make sure the cream cheese comes to room temperature before you try to beat it with the mixer.  This will help in making sure the dip is smooth.  If it’s not, it could result in a lumpy consistency.

Can I use reduced fat cream cheese in this recipe?

Yes.  There should be no problem using reduced fat cream cheese for this dip.  The consistency may be slightly different, but I don’t think you will notice it much.

What should I serve with this dip?

This dip is designed to be served with apple slices.  It is a very thick dip, so the apples work well with it.  I’m not going to tell you that it would be bad with graham crackers or vanilla wafers though!

How do I store this dip?

This dip must be stored in the refrigerator because of the cream cheese.  I always put it in an airtight glass container.  It stays fresh up to 5 days.

If you are attending a party that you need to take something to, give this Toffee Apple Dip a try!  I bet you won’t have any left over!
