Zesty Saltine Crackers

I love salty snacks!  They are one of my biggest weakness.  I have such a hard time turning down a savory cracker or chip.  These Zesty Saltine Crackers are literally irresistible.  You can whip up a batch of these in no time!

This recipe for zesty saltine crackers is so easy.  You probably have all the ingredients for them already in your pantry.  All you need is a box of saltine crackers, oil, a packet of ranch dressing mix and some seasonings.

This recipe is very similar to the Savory brand cracker seasoning.  It has the perfect mix of salty with a little kick of heat.  If you are worried about too much heat, you could decrease the ground red pepper to 1 teaspoon.

I like to take these crackers to parties.  If you leave a bowl of them out people will keep coming back to them.  They are addictive!  They are also great to make as a hostess gift or for neighbors for the holidays.  I am going to make a batch of these to take on my girl’s trip to the beach!  Give them a try soon!

Ingredients

  • 1 box saltine crackers
  • 1 1/3 c oil
  • 1 package dry ranch dressing mix
  • 2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp ground red pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder

Instructions

  1. Open saltine cracker sleeves and place crackers in a 2 gallon ziplock bag
  2. In a bowl, whisk oil, ranch dressing and seasonings until combined.  You will want to make sure the dressing mix is dissolved and seasonings are combined thoroughly.

  3. Pour the oil/seasoning mixture over crackers.
  4. Seal the ziplock bag and gently shake to make sure all crackers are coated with the seasoning mixture.  Turn bag every hour to distribute seasoning more evenly. The longer you let the crackers set, the more seasoning they soak up.   Store in airtight container.
