Chocolate Pie

A delicious homemade custard in a pie shell. You chose the topping, meringue or whipped cream!

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ c milk
  • 1 c sugar
  • 5 tbsp flour
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 prepared pie shell

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan mix milk, sugar, flour, egg yolks and cocoa. Cook on medium heat until mixture starts to bubble and thicken. Once it thickens and reaches a pudding consistency, remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter until well incorporated and smooth.

  2. Pour pudding into a prepared pie shell.

  3. Let pie completely cool before topping with shipped cream
