Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Homestyle noodles simmered in a chicken broth is the ultimate comfort food.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c carrots, sliced
  • 1/2 c celery, sliced
  • 1 tbsp dried minced onion
  • 10 c chicken broth
  • 2 chicken bullion cubes
  • 3 c cooked chicken, chopped or shredded
  • 12 oz egg noodles (I prefer Kluski style)
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large soup pot bring broth, carrots, celery, minced onion and bullion cubes to a boil.  Once the broth is boiling, reduce heat. Simmer for 20-30 minutes, until carrots and celery are tender and bullion is dissolved.

  2. Add chicken and noodles.  Simmer until noodles are tender, about 15-20 minutes.  Salt and pepper to your liking.
